I am an Associate Teaching Professor in the Philosophy and Religion Department and Gender Studies Faculty at Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. Raised in the Philadelphia region, I am the daughter of the late Joseph Betz, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at Villanova University. I received a B.A. in philosophy from Villanova University, an M.A. in philosophy from Boston College, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Temple University. Additionally, I was awarded a Women’s Studies Certificate from Temple University.

My research interests include Hannah Arendt, applied ethics, gender studies, and social and political philosophy. I have published on environmental philosophy, feminist philosophy, Arendt, the philosophy of humor, and political protest and resistance (including political violence). I regularly review academic books on these topics for a variety of publications, including The Philosophers’ Magazine and Choice Reviews. In addition, I serve as the archivist for the North American Society for Social Philosophy and I was a member of my community’s Environmental Advisory Council for three years.
